illustration friday - afterwards

We're wondering what happens in the "afterwards"
(box is kitten's ashes, making her an urn is on my list of to-do's)

Ack my first attempt of doodling after more than a month off. Pretty bad but at least it's a new one, yay. I need to get back into the groove as I have an entire sketchbook to fill for the Sketchbook Project.

Those dogs look really sad, a quite moving sketch.

I think it's lovely, but oh dear! Good luck on filling that sketch book; just go to town!

Thank you, the new pup (11 yrs old), is great. She was spooked a couple times at night by something and whimpered, but we are trying a few drops of Rescue Remedy and leaving the radio on very very low at night and so far so good. By the way, we also share a love of Dorothy Parker!

So sorry for your loss! You have a sweet way of accepting your loss and folding your kitty's spirit back into the mix.
And thanks for your nice comment on my own IF piece.

Sorry for your loss too. Love this sketch and how you managed to bring your little kitty back somehow. Very nice.

That's very touching, Erin. I wonder too, and sincerely hope we can all be reunited with our pets (it can't be heaven without them!)

Good luck with the Sketchbook Project, sounds so cool!

It is always so sad to lose a beloved pet. We don't really know what happens afterwards, but trust that it is always something more wonderful than we could imagine.

Hi Erin, me again, to vehemently say your watercolors do NOT look like mud!! Honestly, you're too hard on yourself!

I'm working on the book, revising some pages of the dummy, putting others to final art. I'm probably won't be able to participate much on IF, but will try to update the blog now and then, and visit friends. The book is the reason I didn't participate in the sketchbook project. I really can't wait to see yours!

No snow yet where we are, but we got so much last year (and it's been cold, at least for tropical me) that I've been thinking of winter images :-)

Awwww, so poignant and sweet. So glad kitten is still around, even if in spirit. Glad you're getting back in the swing. I'm trying to get back to blogging too. Also, after signing up a few months ago, am finally going to start my sketchbook. Nothing like waiting until the last minute, eh? Maybe we can urge each other on!

I miss kitty too :(

She was (and still is) such a spirit here.
